In May 2023, Julissa Contreras' Vámonos had it’s world premiere as a Main Stage production presented by INTAR Theater, one of the longest-running Latino theatres producing in English in the United States, and Radio Drama Network. Directed by Tatyana-Marie Carlo, Vámonos tells the story of the Torres family, a Dominican family from the Bronx who gather to celebrate the christening of Juana's grandson, Christopher. It’s just a year after 9/11, and this bilingual play explores how the family navigates a new reality that challenges their sense of security. The cast stars Cindy Peralta, Yohanna Florentino, Angela Reynoso, Kiara Lauren, Cesar J. Rosado, Denzel Rodriguez, and Ansi Rodriguez.

NuevaYorkinos had the opportunity to curate images and stories from Dominican and Puerto Rican New Yorkers, centering their 9/11 experiences. These memories were on display at the theatre.
